ACTIVE
CITIZENS
What can I do from home to support the movement?
Pay attention to where your food, textiles, cleaning and hygiene products come from when you shop. Every dollar counts towards creating a regenerative future.
KNOW YOUR FARMER
In the United States, it is estimated that food travels around 1,500 miles to get from the farm to your plate. Source straight from your local organic farmer, join a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), support POC-owned farms, or shop at farmers markets.

JOIN THE COMMUNITY
The first step to be more involved is to join our virtual Farmer’s Footprint community hosted on Mighty Networks. Sign up here to connect with other people in your area and globally to surface new ideas and take action to power this movement forward!

CLEAN HYGIENE
Skin is the largest organ in the human body and what we use to clean ourselves with is extremely important. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) is an incredible resource to learn more about the specific ingredients you should avoid with the science to back it up!

ETHICAL APPAREL
18% of worldwide pesticide use and 25% of insecticide use comes from cotton production. Shop second-hand or from Slow Fashion brands that use ethical practices and natural fibers such as organic hemp, recycled cotton, organic linen, and up-cycled fabrics.
SHOP WILD
The reality is, we’ve overfished our oceans. If you do choose to eat seafood, purchase wild-caught seafood, ideally from your local region, and with a sustainable seafood certification. Whenever possible, eat local invasive fish species to help the native biodiversity thrive.

REDUCE MEAT CONSUMPTION
Reduce or eliminate your meat consumption and if you do purchase animal products, make sure it’s free-range, grass-fed, hormone-free, antibiotic free, and from a local regenerative rancher.
